Romantic Knysna Getaways: Self-Catering with Private Hot Tubs
When staying with us, you agree to the following Terms, Conditions & House Rules:
Terms of Stay:
- Minimum 2 night stay during off peak season.
- Minimum 3 night stay during peak season (15 December to 15 January).
- Each unit sleeps a maximum of 2 adults. We cannot accommodate additional guests in your cottage.
- Unfortunately we are not a family friendly establishment. ie no children or pets can be accommodated.
- Day visitors are not permitted.
- Your cottage is on a self-catering basis. (We provide some basics for your first evening and morning i.e a bundle of wood, dish soap, coffee & tea tray including rusks and milk. We also offer complimentary shower gel and body moisturiser for your convenience).
- When staying 5 nights and more a light refresh and clean of your cottage is included free of charge. This includes the change of linen and towels.
- When staying for 2, 3 and 4 nights we offer a daily service at an additional charge of R350 per day, per cottage. We will service your cottage between 10h00 – 14h00. This will include a light clean and tidy, the washing of dishes, taking away of your used bin liner and recycling. This does not include a refresh of bed linen and towels. The total fee will need to be settled by way of card or instant EFT on arrival if not already selected at the time of making your reservation/booking.
- Any personal items left behind by guests will be kept in our lost & found box for a maximum of 3 months from check-out day. If guests wish for their item(s) to be couriered to them this can be arranged at the cost to the guest. Should the item(s) not be claimed within 3 months it will be discarded.
- Guests are personally responsible for reasonable costs related to their accommodation at denBosch Cottages, including (though not restricted to), any services that may be offered by the hosts, the loss of the cottage key, breakages and or any damage incurred during their stay, this includes the soiling of linens.
- Our rates are subject to change at any time.
House Rules:
- Check-in window is 14h00 – 18h00.
- Check-in after 18h00 by prior arrangement.
- Check-out by 10h00. During peak season we reserve the right to charge for an extra night should you be more than 15 minutes late checking out.
- As we do not apply a breakage deposit we reserve the right to charge for any unreasonable misuse and or damage made to the property, bed sheets and furniture accordingly.
- The use of the wood fired hot tub is at your own risk. Please do not use any bath product of any nature (ie oils, bath bombs, salts, bubble bath etc) when using our Kolkols. Should this be found at check out inspection we reserve the right to charge/invoice a R500 cleaning fee.
- Our cottages are a no smoking / vaping zone.
- We are a quiet zone meant for Rest & Relaxation. Please be respectful and considerate of those around you and refrain from playing loud music from any device. Please also be aware of the volume of your voice as the valley tends to make any noise/sound travel.
Offers:
- Are limited and run between certain dates.
- Cannot be moved to another date with the exception of our 15% off offer when staying 5 nights and more.
- Knysna Oyster Festival: 3for2 (stay for 3 nights and only pay for 2 nights) offer is only valid for stays during the Festival period only.
- Picnic/Beach set hire: This comprises of a picnic blanket and basket which includes crockery and cutlery. Excludes catering and drink. Rate is for 48 hours.
Payment Terms:
- Booking.com reservation: any bookings made through Booking.com before the 20th January 2026 we expect full payment on arrival via card or instant EFT (with proof of payment). Cardholder & ID/Passport must be presented at Check-in. Failure of payment will result in our right to exercise admission.
- Direct booking via our website: Credit or Debit card used for online payment must be presented at check-in. Balance (if due) must be paid on arrival. We accept Visa/Mastercard Credit and Debt cards for accommodation only.
- We reserve the right to not refund bank costs upon cancellation for credit card / EFT bookings as the bank does not credit initial deductions costs.
- Consumables on site & Hospitality Add-ons: Payment for the limited assortment of consumables on offer on site and catering service is made directly to our Hosts who will provide details thereof.
- Picnic/Beach set hire: Option to include at time of booking online. Can also be paid for by way of card on site.
Cancellation Policy when booking directly with us:
- If cancelling more than 30 days before arrival, 100% refund.
- If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of deposit.
- If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of deposit.
- If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of deposit/payment.
- If cancelling 7 days or less before arrival, forfeit 100% of deposit/payment.
